1. Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is the act of using paid strategies to increase ranking and search visibility, to appear as search results on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Paid search ads can be found on almost any search results page. Advertisers bid on keywords that users enter when looking for certain products or services, then Google give advertisers the opportunity for their ads to appear alongside results for those search queries. These paid placements are typically located at the top and bottom of the page. They include an “Ad” designation to let users know that it is a paid placement.
There are two common bidding options, either through Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Ads or through Cost-Per-Thousand-Impressions (CPM).
